Assumptions vs Realities!

Assumptions and realities- The two opposite poles of our lives! What we tend to assume rarely takes a solid, definite shape. Reality is far from the assumptions we make. To make this clear for my readers, here is the so-called definition of 'Assumption'-An assumption is a proposition that is taken for granted, as if it were true based upon presupposition without preponderance of the facts.Phew! All-the-more complex. To put it straight, it is something we expect to happen in the due course of time.

Humans- not just a mix of raw flesh and blood but also a concentrated mix of emotions and beliefs. These emotions exercise a strong influence over our thinking and causes us to believe that assumptions are the realities that would take a face in course of time. Intriguing, is'nt it??

Life is all about unpredictability. Nothing is certain then how can these baseless assumptions be. Friends, its time to get back from the dream world into the world of reality and practicality. Stop assuming and start believing and considering the 'real' things, things you can touch and feel and know that they exist!

  6. Hey Prajaktta,
Congratulations on your first blog. Let me say that the words you chose were very apt. The topic was different and out of the league. Good work and keep it up.

Adding on to what you said in the blog, I would like to say that we often live in our own dream world and it is high time we came out of it. People tend to create a fantasy around them in which they like to see what they want or what they assume will happen but with due course of time, we realize that the real world is very different from our fantasy world. So we should avoid making any assumptions in our life as they could cost us a lot, so be cautious ;-)

  7. Hi Prajaktta,

The topic you've chosen is very good, especially for youngsters....those, who make their career path without any concrete plan to execute the same. This results into high expectations from ourselves, and in case of adversity we can not face our failures.

So, important is, stop living into "fools paradise". Set your milestones, face the realities and have a backup plan because we are living in a dynamic world....And yes..that is how we can enjoy our journey towards success.

  9. hey buddy,
First of all CONGRATS for thinking about such a thought provoking topic.. keep writing more.. its a great 1!!
Assumptions.. well i agree they are just figments of imagination.. but then you cant be hard core practical all the time can u??
Facing the reality of your life is something which you HAVE to do..easily or reluctantly. But I sincerely feel a quick dip into your reverie can help you out as a stress buster but the key is it shouldn't get merged with your reality. These are two different worlds and its expected we balance ourselves well in both of them...

  11. Prajaktta,
    Congratulations on your first blog.

In ur blog also u r assuming that people r in the dreamy world & based on ur past experience u r assuming that nothing is certain & life is completely unpredictable.

Many a times reality is different from our assumptions but you cant plan for ur future without undergoing through some assumptions.

So try to make ur assumptions close to reality. Strength of a manager lies in making correct assumption not avoiding assumptions.

    Why r u doing MBA...?
Its because u have assumed that by doing MBA u would gain knowledge & a good job/entrepreneur...assumption

Try to match assumptions with reality to get better outcome...

  19. Dear Prajakta,
    Congrats for your first blog,
Assumption vs realities, well its my personal view that assumptions & realities are not opposite poles, but are depended on each other, a person first faces a situation then makes his own assumption on the basis of his past experience, nature & personality, this gap between reality & person may be treated as assumption, how to see reality? One can only see reality when one sees every situation as different situation & not compare it with his past experiences & think above his walls of ego.
